In 2006 Dr. Victoria Wulsin lost to incumbent Jean Schmidt by only 2,517 votes. Schmidt has recently been criticized for her disrespectful behavior by both Republicans and Democrats, making her an extremely unpopular candidate. Wulsin should be able to use this negative press to aid her campaign.
Dr. Victoria Wulsin has dedicated her life to public health, working in local communities in the Cincinnati area and leading international projects around the world. Wulsin earned her B.A. at Harvard and her M.D. in Public Health at Case Western Reserve University.
Throughout her life, Wulsin practiced medicine in both rural and urban settings. She also directed a health literacy program, and currently serves as chair of the board of the Health Resource Center, which is a free clinic. In addition, Wulsin has fought for occupational safety through her work with the International Chemical Workers and the United Steel Workers.
Furthermore, Wulsin's work as a doctor has taken her to over twenty nations. She directed a five-year, $30 million project to promote women’s health in five countries in Africa and Asia. Most recently she founded SOTENI International, a non-profit organization dedicated to preventing HIV and AIDS among orphans in Kenya.
Dr. Victoria Wulsin is a truly progressive candidate, supporting all of the issues we at DAPAC champion, such as being 100% pro-choice, supporting civil unions for same-sex couples, taking immediate steps to end the war in Iraq, supporting publicly funded universal healthcare, increasing the fuel economy average for all vehicles, and many others. She has pledged to vote for these issues once in Congress. Please help support Dr. Wulsin in her campaign by sending a donation made payable to “Wulsin for Congress” to us at DAPAC where we can forward it along to her.
