Elected in 2006, Joe has had a distinguished career with the Navy; he graduated from the Naval Academy, served for almost 31 years and attained the rank of Vice Admiral. His service included commanding an aircraft carrier battle group which had missions in Afghanistan and Iraq. Joe's political experience includes serving as the Director of Defense Policy in the White House for the Clinton administration. Joe understands that national security encompasses more than just defense policy, and wants to ensure America's future prosperity and safety by implementing changes, including reforming the nation's tax code to be fair to all, expanding health care coverage, providing affordable education through the college level, and withdrawing our troops from Iraq as soon as possible. |
