Elected in 2006, Gabrielle was the youngest woman ever elected to the Arizona State Senate, and during her time in office she fought to protect the environment and expand health care to all Arizona families. She is continuing her work in these areas in the House of Representatives. Gabrielle draws on her background in business to advocate for a balanced budget; her budgeting plans include eliminating corporate tax breaks and targeting government waste. Giffords was appointed to be the vice chairwoman of the House Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment where she has been pushing through legislation promoting solar power. |
