Elected in 2006, Joe was an attorney and a former four-term state legislator in Connecticut's 56th Assembly District. During his time in state government, Joe fought for better health care, and he will continue to argue that every American should have affordable health care while in Congress. Joe will also work to protect the environment and will demand that the truth on Iraq be heard and that Republican leaders be held accountable for their actions.
Recently, Courtney visited Iraq to speak with troops, expressing his dismay and sorrow over how dangerous Iraq has become under Bush's command. He has also argued for better armor for our troops while consistently voting to bring them home and out of harms way. |
