Elected in 2006, Bruce has been fighting for justice through his work as a trial lawyer in the state of Iowa for over 20 years, and in his law experience he demanded that corporations be held accountable to their employees and consumers. Bruce will bring the same approach to Congress, where he is standing up to powerful special interests on behalf of working families. A few areas that Bruce is focusing on include raising the minimum wage, protecting Social Security from Bush's privatization scheme, and upholding Roe v. Wade. Recently, Bruce successfully introduced and passed legislation through the House that helps small businesses. The legislation, H.R. 1873, helps small businesses gain contracts over large corporations. |
