We were shown what a few Tea Party congressmen, numbering less than 15% of Congress, can do when unified and determined; even though they had a destructive agenda. A few courageous, passionate, and determined progressives could do even better with the power of right on their side. Let us work to put these people in Congress to save our country from the destructive policies of the Tea Party and move it forward to the progressive future America wants and needs. We need independent, progressive Democrats like you to contribute to make sure these seats are filled by PROGRESSIVE Democrats.
We must act now to get real progressive Democrats running in these seats to lead America again in a positive progressive direction. To help restore and enlarge environmental protection, a woman's right to choose, support gay marriage and rights, end our wars, and finally, create good paying jobs to stabilize the economy in this country. A list of these new seats created by new redistricting is attached to this letter. You can help us elect the next generation of visionary leaders for the United States. People who are honest, courageous and forceful to determine policy for the next 30 years in the United States. Please donate now to support these efforts.
Only when people have jobs that provide sufficient income to provide for their families' needs will most voters support real environmental protection, woman's rights, gay marriage, an end to our wars and all the other values of progress, freedom and justice, the United States stands for. Their first priority is jobs!
We have a conflict between Main Street people and Wall Street's large corporations. Unfortunately high unemployment in the United States is good for global United States companies because their employees in the US are made desperate for jobs are willing to work harder for longer hours and for lower wages. These global corporations are having record sales and profits based on increases in foreign sales and a stagnation in wages and jobs with employees forced to work harder and longer for the same pay here. These global companies have the highest profit margins and the lowest cost for wages in the history of the United States even though they are sitting on two trillion dollars in cash and shipping out four trillion dollars in capital to foreign countries. They are not creating new jobs in the US because the corporate principals and investors believe it is not in their interest to do so.
On the other hand, Main Street USA, most local corporations, and most small businesses are hurt by the lack of demand and buying power of people in the US. For example, the real estate market cannot recover until middle class people have more good paying jobs and feel secure that they will have a stable income.
This conflict can only be turned around when those global US companies are encouraged to participate in the US economy to produce jobs in the US again. Expert economists have suggested many different policies to make that happen. We are the richest country that ever existed on Earth with the highest per capita income. In contrast we have the lowest median income of any major developed country.
According to recent Gallup polls, the number one issue for 81% of voters is still good paying, full-time jobs. In the November 2010 election this issue led to the biggest Democratic defeat in over 80 years. If the economy continues to mope along while producing less than the necessary jobs to bring the middle class back, we will have an even worse result. All elections are local until they are not! Progressives who are independent from global corporations are the only ones who can bring this economy back for Main Street and lead this country again in a positive progressive direction.
We have to move quickly because global companies have money and power. We can have the people on our side if we get out the message and organize aggressively and early to build an intense grassroots effort. I am willing to put in the time and effort.
